KCET 2025 Counselling and Seat Matrix: KEA has published the seat matrix for the KCET 2025 counselling process, and the session is expected to start soon at cetonline.karnataka.gov.in. With 1,650 seats in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) across 6,255 total government college seats and 10,765 CSE seats out of 37948 seats in private unaided colleges, KCET 2025 is expected to see tight competition for top institutes.

The surge in CSE seats is reflective of the national and global trends where computer science, artificial intelligence, and data-related jobs are witnessing a sharp spike in hiring. The government's decision to dedicate a quarter of all seats to CSE indicates a strategic push towards digital growth and skilling future engineers in emerging technologies.

CSE Still Remains the Top Choice Among Aspirants

Computer Science and Engineering continues to be the most preferred stream among engineering aspirants in Karnataka, with consistent trends seen over the last five years. As per KCET counselling data from previous years, CSE seats in top government colleges such as UVCE Bangalore, BMSCE (autonomous government-aided), and government engineering colleges in Hassan (120 seats), Haveri (60 seats), and Raichur were the first to be filled during Round 1 of counselling

.With over 1,650 seats now up for grabs exclusively in the CSE stream, aspirants with top KCET ranks stand a better chance of securing admissions in reputed institutions. However, the competition remains intense.
